From a colourful makeup collection that gives back to local LGBTQ+ youth to a virtual hair pop-up that celebrates curls, here’s what caught out attention.
NYX Cosmetics Canada announced it’s dropping a special Pride Month-themed makeup collection that supports our local LGBTQ+ community
In celebration of Pride, budget-friendly beauty brand NYX Cosmetics is dropping a three-piece, limited-edition collection next month. On offer from the colour powerhouse will be updated fan favourites: the pro-level Ultimate Shadow Palette Brights ($22) packed with 16 ultra-vivid eyeshadow hues, Shout Loud Satin Lipsticks ($12 each) in six fun new shades (think: bold blue, orange, pink and purple), and six retractable Vivid Brights Eyeliner pencils ($9 each) in varying neon shades, like yellow, red and seafoam green. The collection is sure to check all of your Pride-worthy makeup boxes, and the best part is that 100% of the proceeds earned (up to $25,000) will go directly to the It Gets Better Canada Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports and empowers lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer youth throughout the country. You’ll be able to get your hands on the new collection via nyxcosmetics.ca come June.

Vichy Canada adds two new products to its acne-fighting Normaderm skincare range
Yes, adult acne is thing, and those zits and blemishes can continue well into our 30s, 40s, and even 50s. In fact, according to a recent press release from Vichy Canada, adult acne is a very common skin concern that affects more than four million Canadian women between the ages of 18 to 35. It’s also one of the top reasons for dermatologist visits here in Canada. To help correct problematic skin and prevent future breakouts, Vichy has poured its long-standing skincare expertise into two new product formulations in its Normaderm range, a line specifically formulated for oily and acne prone skin. Launched on May 20th and available on vichy.ca, the new oil-free additions include the Anti-Acne Cleanser ($20) made with anti-inflammatory salicylic acid, bacteria-fighting zinc and healing cooper, and the Anti-Acne Moisturizer ($30), which contains salicylic acid, plus hydrating hyaluronic acid and spot-fading vitamin C. Both suitable for sensitive skin, the products are also infused with Vichy’s signature French thermal water that’s beloved for rebalancing and strengthening the skin’s outer layer.
