If you follow me on Instagram , you know I have recently started doing hand embroidery and as a lot of you asked for links to the embroidery staples.

So to start embroidering, you’ll need the following items:

  1. Embroidery Hoops/ Frames : They are available in various sizes starting from 3inches  all the way to 12 inches in diameter. If you are a beginner, I would recommend you start with small size so that you feel a sense of accomplishment when you finish ?
  2. Embroidery Thread/Floss: There are multiple brands (DMC, Anchor, Vardhaman) that you can go for
  3. Embroidery Needles : You need medium to big eye needles to accommodate the size of the floss.
  4. Marking Tool : I am just using a pencil to do that ?
  5. Scissors: To cut the thread, fabric etc … You get it ?
  6. Fabric: Muslin, quilting cotton, canvas and linen all work well. I typically embroidery on a linen blend. whatever fabric you like!

Do tag me on Instagram if you end up making a piece ?
