Spring is finally here but summer is still too far away for me. To quench my thirst of clear waters and white sandy beaches, I travel. These past few months, I have started to explore Mexico and its amazing regions, starting with Quinta Roo and the very popular Tulum!
“This is one of my favorites of this new Eloquii collection. I like how simple it is, making it a winner for any type of silhouette. This color is amazing on a nice tan or a darker complexion!”
Some will say Tulum is done and taken over by mass tourism and is no bueno, but even if I do agree there’s some better stops in Quinta Roo, I think Tulum is still a hit and I love to stop by for a couple of days on my way down South towards Chetumal and Belize.
“I figured I wouldn’t shoot that suit at first. I know… I mean I would never wear blue printed leopard in a normal setting, but when i tried it on it felt so amazing and suddenly gorgeous that I had no choice then to add it to my top selection. Try it and adopt it, it’s a keeper!”
I listed for you my must do in Tulum and surroundings and trust me, it’s worth the stop! I also made sure to give you my tips and tricks on how to rock the new Eloquii Swim collection!
” I love a good classic. This one is giving me some Goddess vibes and was in my selection since I have seen it on the rack at Eloquii’s HQ! From the fit to the classy gold details, it’s all in the details with this Gem.”
In case you did not notice already, I am more of a 1 piece kinda girl. Not that I do not love my body or can’t handle the bikinis, I just love a classic 1 piece with a great print or killer details. I feel confident, strong, comfortable to move and take on any activity without worrying if my boobs will jump out of it or if I’ll loose my bottom in the waves. I LOVE being comfortable!
“This cut-out stunner screams diva! The cut, the colors, the attitude, this one needs a very confident lady to be rocked and rolled all over the beach or poolside! I am usually low key in my choices but this one just had to make the selection. It’s the unicorn of the 1 pieces!”
STAY
This little paradise is situated right on the beach and made of a few casitas in a beautiful garden. The wifi service and electricity are limited to a few hours a day so I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking to work or be on your socials all day, however it’s great for disconnecting! They also include a descent freshly made breakfast in their room rate! The restaurant is very beautiful, overlooking the beach. There’s a lot of cats on property. They own the place and are all very chill and friendly. I HIGHLY recommend to book a massage there. It was an amazing reflexology experience for me!
This hotel is very similar to the Hemingway but with a much less friendly service! The rooms are a little more decorated and conventional then the Hemingway. You’ll find AC there and no limitation of electricity. If you can, ask for one of the few casitas that are directly on the beach, so that you can sleep with the windows open and the loud sound of the waves in the background!
“This fruity number is one of the best fitting 2 piece I have ever tried. My girls are well in place and I have no worries in the World thanks to those awesome high waisted panties. I can sip on Cocos all day!”
EAT & DRINK
Zamas Hotel & Restaurant
This is where we shot this fab Swim story and also where we spent lots of time, between the adorable beach full of fishing pelicans, the awesome bar (Try the Mezcalita; Marguarita with Mezcal) and their delish Mexican fusion menu. The owners are sweet and very friendly, the rooms are exactly what you want when you think “private casita” and the location is perfect, right in front of the dive shop and central enough to walk the Tulum strip. I highly recommend breakfast, lunch and dinner there!
The Real Coconut
This is a real experience. If you haven’t tasted coconut bacon before, here’s your chance! It’s a very beautiful place, a New York City prices
El Tabano
This little gem across from Hemingway Eco hotel is probably my best meal ever in Tulum area. The drinks are carefully crafter and the food made to order, tasty and very well put together! They also have some live music at night which is always a good thing!
El Baracuda
This one is located on the Main Street in Tulum Centro (aka not the beach strip). From the beach, it will cost you maybe $3/4 to get there. This is a very popular local restaurant with some occasional tourist who like me were well advised to go and eat there. They have all fishes and seafood you can possibly think of and you can have them any style. Shoes your seafood/fish, choose your sauce and Voila! I highly recommend their Pescado with garlic sauce or shrimps Cajun! They also make a mean Flan!
Taqueria La Eufemia
Made famous for its beach location and cheap tacos, Eufemia is a must do. I wouldn’t say it’s the best tacos I have ever had, but it’s very good and very well priced!
Posada Margherita
When you’re done with Mexican food and all you want is a great pasta dish! This is really hard to get a reservation so think about booking as soon as you get there. It’s adorable and delicious, well worth the stop!
“I love a simple yet funky beach outfit. This one is as comfy as it gets and pretty much cute as a button. I wore that one to the beach but also to shop for some souvenirs in Tulum city and to go out for lunch. A real comfy gem!”
EXPLORE
Those 2 cenotes (Tulum area has the ones that look like giant water holes in the Jungle, not much underground ones.) are the closest from Tulum and are accessible walking, biking or driving.
You can find here everything you need for your daily snorkel sessions! For about $15/day you’ll get the full kit! If you’re more of a diver, they will hook you up with everything you need to know and will also propose you many tours to go on right from your hotel!
” This one is a perfect twist on the classic 1 piece! I love the shoulders details and I would even advise to wear it as a fun body suit with jeans or high waisted skirt, day or night!”
